Excursion to the Muddy Volcanoes

An excursion to visit the Muddy Volcanoes area in Buzau County will be organized.

Declared natural reserve in 1924, this is the only place in Europe where such phenomena can be seen.
The area is of interest not only from the geological point of view, but also for the flora, represented by rare plants, that grow in a salty environment and have salt-based nutrition.

The action will aim to deepen the human-nature relationship in a social, ethical and cultural perspective, as well as to encourage the involvement of the school community
as a partner for the development of a sustainable society.

The trip will also seek to encourage respect for the environment, including awareness to issues related to the management of protected areas,
such as accessibility, excessive tourism, the presence of trade activities or waste control.
