International Ecology Film Festival

ECOFEST ROMANIA
“For the Health of the Earth”, 13th edition.

The International Ecology Films Festival ECOFEST ROMANIA – For the Health of the Earth, the 13th. edition, is organized by the Union of Professional Journalists of Romania and the European Ecology Initiative Association (IEE) and takes place in Bragadiru (a satellite town near Bucharest), between October 9-14, 2023.

The program of the 13th. edition is divided in two sections of film screenings: the “Competition” section and the “Panorama” section.

In the “Competition” section, the documentaries will compete for the Awards of 2 juries – the International Jury, consisting of professionals in the field of cinematography and a Jury of 50 students (which will award the Grand Prix of the public).

The topic of selected films for Competition is aimed on ecology, environment and nature preservation and is opened for long or short documentaries ( under 30 minutes) from recent years.

The films will be presented in one single screening, with free access, for the interested public, with a special emphasis on attracting and interacting students.

For both sections the films will be presented on digital media.

The films will be presented in original version and subtitled in Romanian.

A second section, entitled “Panorama“, offers hors-concours (out of competition) representative films with ecological themes, awarded at international genre festivals.

The screenings of the films from the “Competition” section will take place between October 10-12, 2023, at the Mihai Eminescu Cultural Center in Bragadiru, in the presence of the Students’ Jury and the Professionals’ Jury.

In addition to film screenings, educational and creative workshops and TV shows are organized, all with ecological and cultural themes.

Also, during the festival, folk-rock and rock concerts will be performed.

The Indifference Free Zone – is a national level campaign of education and ecological action among children and teenagers and within the International Ecology Films Festival “For the Health of the Earth” aims to raise awareness of ecological values and the formation of skills to act in an ecological spirit.

Each school crew made up of students from Bragadiru presents its vision on environmental protection, pollution reduction or resource conservation.
